It's a funny thing that

you can believe in something entirely false,

and it's not evidence of mental illness if enough other people believe it.

The converse (or contrapositive, or the contraother thing) is also true.

You can believe in something entirely factually correct,

and it's evidence of mental illness if enough others (available for polling) disagree.




I think it's correct to call this a funny thing.
